The ABRA World Championship Show is the premier annual event for Buckskin, Dun, Red Dun, Grulla, Dunalino, and Perlino horses. This FAQ provides clear answers on how to enter, stall requirements, class rules, deadlines, and what exhibitors need to know to compete.

The American Buckskin Registry Association (ABRA) is a nonprofit equine registry that records and promotes Buckskin, Dun, Red Dun, Grulla, Dunalino, and Perlino horses with dun factor. ABRA provides horse registration, membership programs, and competitive events, including the ABRA World Championship Show.
ABRA registers horses displaying Buckskin, Dun, Red Dun, Grulla, Dunalino, and Perlino with dun factor. Champagne and Pearl horses may qualify if they meet the required color standards. Gray, Roan, Paint, Pinto, and Appaloosa characteristics are not eligible for regular registration.
ABRA registers light horses, draft horses, ponies, miniature horses, and mules. Divisions are based on height and type, with miniature horses measuring 38 inches or less and ponies under 56 inches at the withers.
To register (/registration)your horse with ABRA, complete the official registration form, submit required photos and documentation, and pay the applicable fee. Registration can be completed online or by downloading forms from the ABRA website.
Horses must meet ABRA color requirements and provide clear photographs showing coat color and markings. Additional documentation may be required depending on the registration type.
To become an ABRA member, complete the membership application and submit payment through the ABRA website or by mail. Multiple membership types are available, including Youth, Amateur, Non-Pro, Individual, and Lifetime.
ABRA members gain access to horse registration services, eligibility to compete in ABRA-approved shows, participation in the World Championship Show, and opportunities to earn recognition through the Honor Roll Points Program.

To enter the ABRA World Championship Show, follow these steps:
• Register (/registration)your horse with ABRA
• Hold a current ABRA membership(https://www.americanbuckskin.com/membership-types-fees)
• Review the official World Show c(/abra-world-show)lass list and rules
• Submit your entry form and stall reservation
• Ensure all entries are submitted before deadlines (June 1 pre-entry, July 1 final deadline)
• Enter corresponding ABRA classes when competing in NSBA or WRHA classes
Yes. All horses entered in the ABRA World Show must have a prepaid stall at the time of entry.
No. Exhibitors must enter the corresponding ABRA class when entering NSBA or WRHA dual-approved classes. These classes run concurrently.
• Pre-entry deadline: June 1, 2026
• Final deadline for all entries (online and mailed): July 1, 2026
Entries received after June 1 may incur post-entry fees.
Exhibitors should be prepared to submit:
• Proof of ABRA horse registration
• Current ABRA membership
• Completed entry form
• Payment for classes and stalls
• Any additional required documentation listed in the World Show rules
Yes. To stall together, all entries must use the same “Stall With” name (such as a trainer, group, or team name) when submitting entries.
No unloading or horses on tack is permitted before 8:00 AM on July 23, 2026.
Yes. Exhibitors must hold a current ABRA membership to compete in most classes. Some exceptions may apply for select divisions such as Buckskin Bred or Youth events.
The ABRA World Show offers a wide range of classes, including:
