The 2026 ABRA World Championship Show will feature two exciting Challenge Futurities designed to welcome more exhibitors and reward well-rounded horses and riders.

Challenge Classes Overview
The 2026 ABRA World Show will offer two Challenge Futurities:

All Breed All Color Ranch Challenge — $500 Added

All Breed Western Pleasure Versatility Challenge — $500 Added
Entry Fees & Eligibility
-
Pre-Entry Fee: $200 per horse
-
Post-Entry Fee: $250 per horse
-
Non-Member Fee: $15 (if not an ABRA member)
-
Open to: All breeds, all colors, all ages, all divisions
-
Horses Only
-
These events do not earn other awards or points

Open All Breed Ranch Riding Challenge – Rules
The Open All Breed Ranch Challenge includes three phases of competition:
1. Pattern Phase
All exhibitors will perform a pattern consisting of:

Ranch riding
-
Ranch trail maneuvers
-
Obstacles
At the completion of the pattern:
-
Exhibitors must remain quietly in the arena holding area
-
Horses may walk only (no schooling)
👉 All entries perform the pattern
👉 Top 15 scores return
2. Ranch Rail Pleasure
Following all pattern runs, exhibitors will show on the rail demonstrating:

Walk
-
Trot
-
Lope
-
Extended gaits
-
Additional maneuvers at the judge’s discretion
3. Ranch Conformation
After the rail portion:
-
Exhibitors have 3 minutes to untack
-
2 grooms and 1 wheelbarrow allowed
-
Time begins when the first groom enters the arena
Scoring & Placings
-
Each phase (pattern, rail, conformation) is scored independently
-
Final placings are determined by combined composite scores
-
Horses must compete in all phases to place
-
Any horse receiving a zero or dismissal in any phase will not place
Open All Breed Western Pleasure Versatility Challenge – Rules
This class also includes three phases of competition:
1. Pattern Phase
The pattern may include:

Turns
-
Trail obstacles (walk/jog/lope overs)
-
Lead changes
-
Extended gaits
-
Maneuvers typical of all-around events
At completion:
-
Exhibitors must remain in the arena holding area
-
Horses may walk only
-
No schooling, trotting, or loping allowed
👉 All entries perform the pattern
👉 If more than 20 entries, top 15 return
2. Western Pleasure Rail
Exhibitors will demonstrate:

Walk
-
Jog
-
Lope
-
Extended gaits
-
Judge-directed maneuvers
3. Halter / Conformation Phase
After the rail portion:

Exhibitors have 3 minutes to untack
