Start Your Own ABRA Charter Club

Bring the Buckskin community to your hometown.

Why Start an ABRA Charter Club?

Starting an ABRA Charter Club is an exciting way to bring together Buckskin horse owners, riders, breeders, and enthusiasts in your local area. Charter Clubs create supportive communities where people can learn, show, trail ride, and celebrate the ABRA breed together.

When you start an ABRA Charter Club, you help:

  • Promote ABRA-registered horses, ponies, miniature horses, and mules

  • Grow the Buckskin horse community in your region

  • Create opportunities for youth, amateurs, and families

  • Host local events, clinics, and horse shows

  • Strengthen visibility for Buckskin horses nationwide

If you’ve ever wished there were more ABRA activities near you, forming a club is the perfect way to make it happen.

What You Need to Start an ABRA Charter Club

Starting a club is simple. All you need is a small team and a passion for supporting the ABRA community.

1. Choose Your Officers

Each new club must have four officers:

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

These officers help guide the club, organize meetings, and plan your yearly event.

2. Create Your Club Bylaws

Bylaws outline how your club will operate.
You can start with our simple, fill-in-the-blank Bylaws Template, then customize it to fit your group.

3. Submit the ABRA Charter Club Application

Once your officers and bylaws are ready, complete the official Charter Club Application.
ABRA will review your submission and notify you when your club is approved.

4. Host At Least One Event Each Year

Every ABRA Charter Club must host one qualifying event annually, such as:

  • A schooling show

  • An ABRA-approved show

  • An educational clinic

  • A co-sanctioned event offering ABRA-approved classes

This event helps promote Buckskin horses and creates meaningful opportunities for your members.
