Since 1981, the Oklahoma Buckskin Horse Association (OBHA) has played a vital role in promoting Buckskin, Dun, Red Dun, and Grulla horses throughout the state. As a respected ABRA Charter Club, OBHA provides competitive opportunities while fostering a welcoming, family-oriented environment.
Through horse show competition and youth development, OBHA continues to strengthen Oklahoma’s Buckskin tradition.
How OBHA Operates as an ABRA Charter Club
As an active ABRA Charter Club, OBHA offers a full showbill that supports both ABRA-registered horses and All Breed participation.
OBHA provides:
ABRA-approved classes with lifetime point eligibility
All Breed classes for horses of any color
Youth, Amateur, Ranch, Walk/Trot, and Open divisions
High Point and year-end award opportunities
Multiple 2026 shows in Tulsa and Claremore, Oklahoma
This inclusive structure encourages participation while increasing exposure and value for Buckskin horses.
Competition, Community & Long-Term Growth
OBHA’s mission extends beyond the show pen. The association works to:
Promote awareness of the Buckskin breed
Provide youth development opportunities
Encourage responsible breeding and horsemanship
Create a supportive, family-friendly show environment
A strong ABRA Charter Club like OBHA ensures that regional exhibitors have consistent opportunities to compete, connect, and grow.
Why ABRA Charter Clubs Matter
Charter clubs such as OBHA:
Expand regional access to ABRA competition
Support exhibitor engagement and youth participation
Promote breed visibility at the grassroots level
Strengthen the mission of the American Buckskin Registry Association
ABRA proudly recognizes OBHA for over four decades of dedication to Buckskin horses in Oklahoma.
