Spotlight on the Buckskin Horse Association of Michigan

The Buckskin Horse Association of Michigan (BHAM) is a growing, family-oriented association dedicated to celebrating and promoting the Buckskin, Dun, Red Dun, and Grulla horse. Affectionately known as “B.H.A.M.,” the club provides members with opportunities to compete, connect, and enjoy the tradition of showing and supporting these unique equine colors.

What BHAM Offers

Each summer, BHAM sponsors weekend shows featuring multiple judges and a full slate of both ABRA (American Buckskin Registry Association) and All Color classes. These shows welcome all types of horse enthusiasts, creating a vibrant and inclusive environment for competition and community.

In addition, BHAM proudly sponsors the All American Buckskin Horse Congress, held annually on the first weekend of October, bringing together riders and fans from across the region.

The Mission of BHAM

The mission of the Buckskin Horse Association of Michigan is to:

  • Provide a venue for members to improve the breeding, exhibition, sale, and publicity of Buckskin, Dun, Red Dun, and Grulla horses.

  • Promote the natural movement of the horse.

  • Foster a family environment where all can compete in a fair and socially acceptable manner.

  • Offer educational opportunities for youth, amateur, and adult riders to grow and develop.

Through its dedication to both horses and community, BHAM continues to strengthen the presence of Buckskin horses in Michigan while creating meaningful experiences for riders of all ages.
