Record Growth and Unforgettable Moments Define the 2025 ABRA World Show

Participation Surges, Buckskin Bred Program Expands, and Community Spirit Shines in Tulsa

Chandler, AZ — July 31, 2025 — The 2025 American Buckskin Registry Association (ABRA) World Show wrapped up a memorable week in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where riders, horses, families, and fans gathered July 13–19 to celebrate excellence across all disciplines and divisions. With over 1,500 horses entered in 287 classes and a 26% increase in stalls used compared to 2024, the show exceeded expectations and solidified its reputation as a must-attend event on the national horse show calendar.

This year’s theme, “Dun in the Sun,” brought extra flair to the barns and arenas, inspiring a creative stall and costume decorating contest that added fun and energy throughout the week. The show kicked off on Saturday, July 12, with the Youth Judging Contest, which saw a 78% increase in participation—growing from 9 to 16 teams. That evening, the Welcome Party and Opening Ceremonies, sponsored by Char-Lin Ranch (Linda Cline), set the tone for a week filled with competition, camaraderie, and celebration.

“It was an outstanding show from start to finish,” said Ken Smith, ABRA Show Manager. “We had more horses, more classes, and more excitement. The continued growth of the Buckskin Bred program and the increased youth involvement were especially encouraging to see.”

Buckskin Bred entries made up 36% of total participation, proving that the program’s expansion is delivering strong results. NSBA classes welcomed 515 horses, and the new LeadLine Halter class for exhibitors aged 6 and under saw an impressive 9 entries in its debut year.

Special awards recognized excellence across the board:

  • 7 High-Point Speed Awards

  • 23 All-Around Champions, including Reserve All-Around winners

  • Sportsmanship Awards, celebrating the spirit of the sport

  • Lifetime Achievement Awards presented to Linda Cline and JJM Sunny Pine

Youth engagement remained a cornerstone of the event with the ABRA Youth Ambassador Program highlighting young leaders. This year’s Junior Ambassador is Ollie Pearl Montgomery, and Senior Ambassador is Kara Flickinger. Six contestants competed in this inspiring program that emphasizes leadership and promotion of ABRA values.

“This show is about more than just competition,” said Karri Owens, ABRA Marketing Director. “It’s about building community, supporting our youth, and creating an experience that exhibitors and families look forward to all year long.”

The show also included:

  • The Team Tournament, boosting camaraderie

  • A festive Stall & Horse Decorating Contest

  • Real-time livestreaming via Walton Webcasting, allowing fans nationwide to tune in daily

With feedback from participants and a surge in entries, ABRA is adding an extra day to the 2026 World Show to accommodate the continued growth. Mark your calendars for July 23 – August 1, 2026, in Tulsa!
