The ABRA Youth Ambassador Program is one of the most valuable opportunities for young equestrians to grow as leaders while representing the American Buckskin Registry Association (ABRA).

Designed for riders 18 and under, this program builds confidence, leadership skills, and real-world experience, both in and out of the arena. With applications now open for 2026, now is the time to get involved.

ABRA Youth Ambassador Program – What It Is and Why It Matters

The ABRA Youth Ambassador Program is a leadership initiative that allows youth riders to represent ABRA at events, within their communities, and across the equine industry.

Participants develop:

  • Communication and public speaking skills

  • Confidence in leadership roles

  • Strong connections within the ABRA community

This program is not just about competition, it’s about preparing the next generation of equine leaders.

Meet the 2026 Youth Ambassador Contestants

We’re proud to introduce our current 2026 ABRA JR/SR Youth

Ambassador Contestants:

  • Braelyn Stokes – Senior Division

  • McKenna Kinler – Senior Division

These contestants will compete at the ABRA World Championship Show, showcasing their horsemanship and leadership potential.

Youth Ambassador Age Divisions

The ABRA Youth Ambassador Program includes two divisions to support riders at different stages:

  • Senior Youth Ambassador (Ages 14–18)

  • Junior Youth Ambassador (Ages 13 and Under)

This structure ensures younger riders can begin developing leadership skills early, while older participants take on more advanced ambassador roles.

How the Competition Works

Contestants compete during the ABRA World Championship Show, where they complete age-appropriate horsemanship patterns as part of the selection process.

Winners are selected based on:

  • Horsemanship ability

  • Presentation and professionalism

  • Leadership potential

Selected ambassadors serve a one-year term, representing ABRA and passing the title on to the next group of leaders.

Awards and Recognition

Participants in the ABRA Youth Ambassador Program receive meaningful recognition and rewards:

  • Official Youth Ambassador title

  • Embroidered ambassador sash

  • Personalized silver buckle

  • Recognition in the ABRA World Show Souvenir Program

  • Features on the ABRA website and social media

For families, it provides a structured path for youth involvement beyond showing, adding long-term value to ABRA membership.
