Mares for Sale

March 28, 2020

"Butter" was reserve high point green horse her two-year-old year. She should have been the high point, but I had to miss two shows because of my health. I have MS and can't be out in extreme heat. She was started slowly and correctly by Dez Melonee of Wild Rose Equine.

Her three-year-old year, she spent four months with Steve Lyons of Steve and Sharon Lyons Quarter Horses. I have a video of her as a 3-year-old with Steve Lyons. While she was at Wild Rose, she was exposed to lots of different things. Arena work and trail rides and lots of kids. Dez rode her while giving lessons. She LOVES people - especially kids! When she was with Steve, he checked and pushed cattle with her. She is the kind of horse that can be off all winter and pick up right where she left off.

Due to health and related family and financial problems, she just sat last year. Things aren't looking any better for this year with the Covid 19 virus. When she was in training with Steve, I wouldn't have taken $7500 for her, but she is not in show shape now, so I realize that is unrealistic. She NEEDS a home. Hopefully, one with a little girl who wants a beautiful buckskin mare to love that will love her back tenfold. The picture below is her as a 2-year-old with one of Dez's students riding her at one of our local shows.

JBJ Driftin RedSonja

March 25, 2020

Stunning triple registered ABRA, AQHA, & NFQHA red dun yearling filly with Driftwood, Joe Hancock, Dry San, and Dry Doc running through her blood. No white except for a few stray hairs on her forehead, by my black AQHA Joe Hancock stallion and out of a red dun Dry San - Driftwood mare. Both sire and dam are on site, and she displays all the dun factor that breeders look for, webbing on her forehead and withers, dorsal stripe, light stocking strips down the back of all four legs, shoulder and neck barring and leg barring.

Bathes, trims, loads and trailers, wears a blanket, everything a youngster should know, very friendly people horse, needs a show or performance home. She is very catty and athletic and super easy going, not much bothers her. Steady like her sire and dam. Both parents are heavy soggy built with good bone and feet; I expect she will mature out around 15 hands. I am selling her to promote my stallion. Always sound of mind and limb has foundation quarter horse papers and buckskin registry as well. Could excel in any sport, sire's sire and dam were both ranch and rope horses, and her dam is my all-around horse. More pictures and video available on request. She will be two in May 2020, so she's ready to start your way. Right now she is still butt high and growing like a weed. Special consideration to a show or ranch home.
