Gena's riding career began over 50 years ago and has not slowed down since. Her first love was dressage, followed by jumping, before finally settling down to western pleasure and the all-around events. Gena does enjoy the occasional weekend team sorting competition and likes to expose the horses to cattle when possible because every opportunity is a learning opportunity.

 

Twenty years ago, DunsNRoses Ranch LLC began its breeding adventure. Since then, they have produced multiple ABRA and IBHA World and Reserve World Champions and AQHA and AQHYA World Show qualifiers. Our senior stallion, Dun Goin Steady, has proven that color can win, even in the AQHA ring. Their junior stallion, Sapphires N Pearls, is sired by DGS, and by the looks of his first foal crop, color and quality will continue to wow people worldwide. With these two stallions, we offer a color guarantee to mare owners on our contract. We offer mare care, artificial insemination, reproductive ultrasounds, and broodmare services, including foaling out for our clients with camera access to each individual.

 

Our goal is to continue to bring versatility, reliability, and diversity to the regional AQHA/ABRA shows in the Northwest. In addition to the training and breeding program, Gena owns Post Falls Equestrian Center (PFEC), the home of DunsNRoses Ranch, where they provide riding lessons and boarding. This lifestyle is one that they enjoy, even in the cold winter months, regardless of the time of year; there is always something going on here!
