Gena's riding career began over 50 years ago and has not slowed down since. Her first love was dressage, followed by jumping, before finally settling down to western pleasure and the all-around events. Gena does enjoy the occasional weekend team sorting competition and says that one day she will push colt starting to the side, but right now her passion for the young horses is strong and that is not going anywhere anytime soon.
20 years ago, Gena and her husband Ken began their breeding adventure and since then have produced multiple ABRA and IBHA World and Reserve World Champions as well as AQHA and AQHYA World Show qualifiers. Gena and Ken's stallion, Dun Goin Steady, has proven that color can win, even in the AQHA ring. Their goal is to continue to bring versatility, reliability, and diversity to the regional AQHA shows in the Northwest.
In addition to the training and breeding program, Gena and Ken own Post Falls Equestrian Center (PFEC), the home of DunsNRoses Ranch, where they provide quality training and boarding. This lifestyle is one that they enjoy, even in the cold winter months. One sub-division of PFEC is Gena's reproductive services such as mare and foal care, ultra-sounding, artificial insemination, foaling, and more. Life is never dull on the ranch.
Her devotion to ABRA and the growth of the horse industry is what fuels her passion for the members of this wonderful association.
Ken Pickering - Runnells, IA
I am retired and my wife Deb and I live in Runnells, Iowa. We have been members of ABRA for almost 30 years. While living in Oklahoma I held several positions with Oklahoma Buckskin Association including President and I am now a lifetime member.
I served on the board of directors for ABRA for six years then took on the duties of World Show Manager. In 2001 I was instrumental in getting the World Show moved to Tulsa and have helped it become the success it is today. In 2015 I was a small part of moving the main office to Tulsa. In 2017 I was asked to take a board position to finish a three-year term after Georgie Jones resigned.
I am currently the chairperson for the World Show committee, Drug committee and serve on the Publicity and Promotion committee and the executive committee.
Dinah Coop - Inola, OK
I’m Dinah Coop, married to Dean, live in Inola, OK and travel into many states to visit children and grandchildren.
I was a marketing manager with AT&T for 30 years and have now been employed by the Tulsa County Assessor for the past 13 years. At the county, I appraise Farm and Business assets and machinery.
My husband and I were involved in the Quarter Horse Racing Industry for many years. We raised several horses that had successful careers both on and off the track. We sold our racing stock a few years ago and have since focused on our Halter horses.
I have been a member of ABRA since 1996 and did show All-Around for a number of those years. Now we enjoy showing Halter with ABRA as well as other organizations. We’ve had some ABRA World Champions, Reserve Champions and all of the horses that we have shown have placed in the top 5 at the ABRA World Shows. I have also been on the BOD for Oklahoma Buckskin for 15 years and work hard to promote the ABRA Charter Clubs.
ABRA continues to head in the right direction. I’ve been on the ABRA BOD for 2 years and have witnessed the organization listen to its membership, implement some great ideas and support those that help grow our association.
ABRA is a great place to showcase the versatility of our horses, mules, ponies and miniatures in both the Regular and Buckskin-Bred registry.
Glad to be part of it !

Lisa Castle - East Tawas, MI
During my time on the board, I have taken over the point tabulation for all shows as well as honor roll and national awards.
My career is in the financial compliance sector as well as being a financial planner and I feel those skills are very beneficial to ABRA. I have been involved as a past Treasurer and President of the Buckskin Horse Association of Michigan (BHAM). This large charter puts on one of the largest ABRA point-approved shows in the fall and as a BHAM board member, I did a lot of the planning and management of the show.
I have been an amateur that has received multiple national titles with ABRA over the last 20 years. The future looks bright for ABRA and I am excited to continue to serve and be part of it.
Tom Williams - Adrian, MO
For those of you that don't know me, my name is Tom Williams. I have been an ABRA member for 19 years, a carded judge for 7 years and a board member for the past 6 years.
I am the current chair to several committees that I am passionate about which includes: Buckskin Bred Committee, Judges Committee, and Nominating Committee. A few of the things that I am very proud to have accomplished in my years as a board member are getting the Buckskin Bred program started and growing, new testing procedures for new judges and current carded judges and code of conduct letters for all judges.
